Ravi Handa, a podcast host, shared the photos on Twitter, which he claimed he received from Reddit. He stated that the flat was left in this condition by an "educated bachelor" who worked in an MNC. The entire place looked like a dumping ground with numerous empty beer bottles scattered around everywhere. The kitchen appeared to be a complete mess, with waste lying around the slab, and the cabinets broken. With so much garbage inside the flat, it seemed like it hadn't been cleaned in a long time.
On Reddit, a Bengaluru landlord had disclosed how he had rented his 2 BHK flat to an “educated bachelor” who worked at a “large MNC”. After paying rent for 3-4 months, the tenant suddenly disappeared and later called to demand the security deposit back. However, he was hesitant to hand over the flat properly, which raised suspicion.
When the landlord visited the flat, he was in for a shock as the place was filled with empty liquor bottles. The windows had been left open, allowing pigeons to enter and defecate everywhere. Additionally, there was a dirty mattress lying in the middle of the living room, and the kitchen and toilet were in a big mess.
“It’s a rare case; 98% of bachelors clean up after themselves,” commented one user. Another user said, “This is a one-off case. Also, all homeowners deduct one month's rent for painting and cleaning charges.”
However, he was hesitant to hand over the flat properly. After the landlord became suspicious, the went to visit the flat and was in for probably the biggest shock of his life. The entire place was filled with empty liquor bottles. The windows were open, which led to pigeons coming in and defecating everywhere. The kitchen and toilet were in a big mess. There was a dirty mattress lying in the middle of the living room.
The condition of the flat was disgusting.
“Rented my 2bhk flat in Marathahalli to a well educated bachelor working in a large MNC in outer ring road. Rent was 17k with deposit of 85k, guy paid rent for 3-4 months and disappearred for few months. He called me randomly to say he needs to vacate because he is in dire emergency and he needs deposit back asap. I decided to waive off some portion of the unpaid rent and return some portion of the security deposit, but he was hesitant to give handover properly. Something was very suspicious and decided to visit the flat and I see this condition, he left for his “home town” without even closing the windows. None of the people in the society noticed anything suspicious, but noted he had plenty of visitors but they would wind down music and party by 10. I’m obviously not returning the security deposit and I have his details to the local police. He’s blocked my number, but occasionally unblocks to abuse me (sic),” the landlord wrote on Reddit.
